B.T. Hunting
Guided Dove, Duck and Quail Hunts
San Fernando, Tamaulipas Mexico

What You Will Need To Bring:
The temperature varies in the later part of the year, but is fairly consistent between August and December. If you come in the fall expect some rain, as this is the tail end of the Hurricane season. For later season duck hunts, plan on weather that could get down to the mid 30's at night to mid 70's by noon. Also, make sure you bring along hip boots and plenty of film.

Bird boy Types of Hunts: B. T. Hunting offers a 6 hunt package which is three full days of hunting. Typically hunters fly into Brownsville, which is serviced by several major airlines. They fly in on Thursday morning, are picked up and driven to the lodge in late model ¾ ton crew cab diesel pick-up trucks. It's a 2 hour drive from Brownsville to the lodge on well-paved highways. Upon arriving at the lodge you will be assigned sleeping quarters and a bird boy. Quarters are not fancy, but they are adequate and clean. Quarters can hold two to four hunters each. After stowing your gear it's off to the fields for some fabulous bird hunting. When the sun sets, it's back to camp for some great food and great conversation. After all the questions have been answered it's time to relax at the bar or watch the ball game on the satellite TV.
Wake up varies with the area to be hunted but usually comes around 5:15 AM. Breakfast is simple with plenty of hot coffee. Then it's off to the fields again. Morning shooting ends when the birds stop flying. It's back to the lodge, lunch and then a short nap before the afternoon hunt. Ocean Hunt

For 6 hunt packages it would be: hunting Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and finally hunting Sunday morning getting you back to camp in time to pack your bags for the flight home.

The other schedule for a 6 hunt package would be; fly in on Sunday morning or afternoon, hunt Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday AM & PM. Thursday would be a travel day back to the airport for departure.

You are allowed to bring guns into Mexico, as well as ammunition. There is a special gun permit that has to be obtained, so if you are planning to bring your own guns, book early and get the required paperwork done as soon as possible. The gun permit fee and the amount of ammunition allowed changes from year to year so check with us early.
